Forthcoming upgrades
Nikon D7500 SLR
4K 30fps, 1080p 60fps video
Full specs
(forthcoming 15 November 2026, D5300 part exchange, €200 second hand - rationale is to get better video when necessary, and is an upgrade as a stills camera, for a low price)
DJI Osmo 8P Advanced Tracking Combo Gimbal
Full specs
(forthcoming, from November, costs €169 new - rationale is it will allow better shooting on location)
Elgato Facecam 4K Webcam
4K 60fps, 1080p 60fps video
Full specs
(forthcoming, from November, costs €200 new - rationale is it will be a massive improvement on the UGREEN webcam and even if only at 30fps will provide much crisper video when recording at my desk)
Longer term ideas
FujiFilm X-M5
4K 60fps, 1080p 60fps video
Full specs
(body only, costs €780 new or c. €600 second hand - rationale would be that it provides a major upgrade over the Nikon SLRs when it comes to video recording quality, although no viewfinder is a downgrade for still photography. Small size and low weight an advantage when needing to pack light)
Lenses
FUJINON XF18-55mmF2.8-4 R LM OIS
Full specs
FUJINON XC50-230mmF4.5-6.7 OIS II
