Just 2km of track missing! Re-connecting Wien 🇦🇹 with Brno 🇨🇿 via Laa an der Thaya
The most direct rail route from Austria's capital Wien to Czechia's second city Brno crosses the border between Laa an der Thaya and HevlÃn. But 2km of track has been missing here since 1945. But the absence of electrification and slow line speeds Czech side mean it would only make sense to re-open the border section if wider infrastructure improvements are made Czech side.
