A colleague at work mentioned MySociety‘s new website to me – Neighbourhood Fix It. This is a site that allows you to report all kinds of minor problems in your area. I’ve just used it to report a major pothole on my cycle route between Waterloo and Elephant & Castle. See the map to the right, and click here to follow the progress of the situation. The system sends reports to the local council that are then – in theory – going to fix the problems. It’s like a high tech version of John Major’s Cones Hotline. Anyway, it looks like a good idea and I’ll see whether anything happens to the pothole I’ve reported.

Hey! Where’s the guidance that driving London to Durham when you’ve got COVID symptoms is ok?
The circumstances have been explained, the guidance was followed. Time stop the political attacks and move on as we work together to combat this awful virus https://twitter.com/iainjwatson/status/1264124644191277057
Also in case people forgot: at the time Cummings was driving to Durham, police were fining people for driving to Snowdonia for a walk in the countryside.
And Cummings had COVID symptoms and was to drop off a kid and visit elderly relatives.
